Hardwood species & finish options
Kessick uses only select hardwoods — chosen for their grain character, structural integrity, and ability to hold a furniture-grade finish.

Walnut
Rich, dark grain · Warm chocolate tonesWalnut is prized for its naturally deep, chocolate-brown tones and distinctive straight grain. It accepts stain with exceptional consistency, producing a furniture-grade finish with depth and warmth that complements both traditional and contemporary wine room interiors.

Sapele Mahogany
Interlocked ribbon grain · Warm reddish-brown baseSapele Mahogany is known for its striking interlocked grain pattern that produces a ribbon figure under certain lighting — a hallmark of premium cabinetry. Its warm reddish-brown base takes stain beautifully, making it the most visually dramatic of Kessick's standard hardwood offerings.

White Oak
Open, even grain · Neutral, versatile base toneWhite Oak has surged in popularity for contemporary wine room design thanks to its open, even grain and neutral base tone. It accepts both light and dark stains evenly — equally at home in a modern minimalist cellar or a warm traditional space.

The making of a Kessick system
Designed, engineered, and manufactured in South Carolina using domestically sourced materials.
Full ¾" hardwood core A-grade panels with solid wood internal components. All fasteners engineered to be hidden.
CNC technology combined with experienced craftsmen produces precision cuts and consistently tight tolerances across every component.
LED lighting designed into each project and factory-installed. Wire chases are factory routed and drilled — drivers and controls included.
Hand-wiped stains finished with an automated feed-through sealer and topcoat line. Grain character is preserved, not masked.
Each component arrives factory assembled and labeled by room, wall, and location. Nothing to assemble on-site before installation.
From raw hardwood to
ready to install
Each project begins with Kessick's in-house design team working directly with clients and dealers to understand the space, bottle count, budget, and aesthetic vision. No two Kessick installations are identical.
Walnut, Sapele Mahogany, and White Oak are selected based on the design direction. Architectural panels with high gloss, super matte, and embossed wood grain finishes are also available for most product lines.
CNC technology ensures tight tolerances across every component — bottle supports, column ladders, rail systems, and panel faces are machined to exacting specifications before moving to the craftsmen's bench.
Experienced craftsmen assemble each component using dowel and joinery construction — no visible nails, no brad guns, no staples. Hand-wiped stains are sealed with a feed-through topcoat line for a finish that rivals fine furniture.
A full mock-up of each wine cellar design is assembled on the factory floor to verify the dimensions and fit of every component before crating. This step is standard at Kessick — not optional.
Each assembled component is identified by room, wall, and location, then packed using a proprietary crating process engineered to minimize shipping damage. Components arrive ready to install — not ready to assemble.
Engineered for seamless installation
Every Kessick system is designed from the start with the installation process in mind. Components arrive factory assembled, pre-identified, and ready to place — eliminating the complexity that comes with kit-style wine racking systems.
As an authorized Kessick dealer, Wine Cellar HQ works with you and the Kessick design team to confirm room dimensions, wall layout, bottle count, and architectural elements before production begins.
Your Kessick system ships fully assembled and labeled by room, wall, and position. No flat packs, no hardware bags — every component arrives ready to be placed in its designated location.
Kessick components install using integrated install rails and assembled independent base platforms — included as standard. The result is a faster, cleaner installation with no structural improvisation required.

Your questions about Kessick, answered
As an authorized Kessick dealer, Wine Cellar HQ is here to guide you — from materials and construction to ordering and installation.
What makes Kessick wine storage systems different from other brands?
Kessick Wine Storage Systems are designed and manufactured entirely in South Carolina using select domestic hardwoods — Sapele Mahogany, White Oak, and Walnut. Unlike most wine racking brands that sell flat-pack kits requiring on-site assembly, every Kessick component arrives fully assembled and ready to install, the same way fine cabinetry is delivered. This eliminates jobsite assembly time, reduces installation errors, and results in a finished product that holds its quality over the long term.
The construction method is also fundamentally different. Kessick uses dowel and joinery construction with full ¾" hardwood core A-grade panels and solid wood internal components — not particleboard, not MDF, not wire-form metal. CNC technology is combined with experienced craftsmen to ensure tight tolerances on every piece.
As an authorized Kessick dealer, Wine Cellar HQ offers the full line of Kessick systems with the added benefit of our team's expertise in wine storage design — so you're not just buying a product, you're getting a guided experience from concept to completed installation.
What wood species does Kessick use, and can I choose my own stain?
Kessick's standard hardwood offerings are Sapele Mahogany, White Oak, and Walnut — three of the most respected species in fine furniture and cabinetry. Each has its own grain character and responds differently to stain, giving you a wide range of aesthetic outcomes. Sapele Mahogany has a distinctive interlocked ribbon grain and warm reddish-brown base. White Oak is popular for contemporary projects thanks to its neutral, even grain. Walnut offers naturally deep chocolate tones that suit both traditional and modern wine rooms.
Each species is available in multiple stain options — from Unfinished and Clear Satin to Walnut, Espresso, 2x Espresso, Bespoke Gray, and White Wash, depending on species. Kessick also offers architectural panel finishes including high gloss, super matte, and embossed wood grain for most product lines.

How does the Kessick ordering and design process work?
Kessick operates as a trade-only manufacturer — meaning their systems are available exclusively through authorized dealers like Wine Cellar HQ, not directly to the public. The process begins with a design consultation where your room dimensions, bottle count, aesthetic preferences, and budget are discussed. Kessick's in-house design team then develops a custom layout using your specific space — no two Kessick installations are identical.
Once the design is approved, Kessick produces the components in their South Carolina facility. Before shipping, a full mock-up of the wine cellar is assembled on the factory floor to verify dimensions and component fit. Each piece is then labeled by room, wall, and position, and packed using Kessick's proprietary crating process to minimize shipping damage.
To get started, contact Wine Cellar HQ directly. Our team will guide you through species selection, configuration options, and timeline expectations for your project.
Are Kessick wine storage systems difficult to install?
Kessick systems are specifically engineered to make installation as straightforward as possible. Because every component arrives fully assembled and labeled by room, wall, and location, installers do not need to perform any on-site assembly before placing components. This is fundamentally different from kit-style wine racking systems, which often require significant jobsite time just to prepare components before installation even begins.
Kessick components install using an integrated install rail system included as standard — not sold separately. Assembled independent base platforms are also included. LED lighting wire chases are factory routed and drilled into each component, so lighting is essentially plug-and-play on arrival. A full factory mock-up is fitted before shipping to verify fit before the system leaves South Carolina.
Installation is intended to be performed by a professional installer or contractor. Wine Cellar HQ can advise on installation requirements for your specific project as part of the ordering process.
Which Kessick series is right for my project?
Wine Cellar HQ offers three Kessick series, each designed for a different aesthetic and application. The Tower Vignette series is built around freestanding tower configurations — ideal for dedicated wine rooms and full cellar builds where maximizing bottle capacity and creating a dramatic floor-to-ceiling presence is the goal. The Somm Series takes a more refined, sommelier-inspired approach, balancing display and storage in a way that works well for both residential wine rooms and commercial hospitality settings.
The Wine As Art series is the most architecturally distinctive of the three — wall-mounted display panels that treat the wine collection itself as a living art installation. Available in multiple panel configurations and finishes including wood, textured, leather, and high-gloss, Wine As Art is designed for spaces where the wine storage is meant to be a design statement as much as a functional system.
Not sure which series fits your project? Contact Wine Cellar HQ and our team will help you identify the right system based on your space, bottle count, aesthetic direction, and budget.
