CELLAR COOL CX SERIES - designed for wine collectors who are looking for an economical and budget cooling solution - MADE IN THE U.S.A.

The CellarCool CX3300 with its amazing humidity( 50% - 70%) and temperature(55°F - 58°F) management capability, it creates a stable environment for the development and maturation of your precious wine collection. The main qualities of these units are reliability, longevity, and durability. Modern design allows a simple through-the-wall installation that lets the unit fit between the standard wall studs and eliminates the need for support shelves.

This CellarCool CX3300 self-contained unit is manufactured to cool down up to 650 cubic feet of cellar space. It has a 30°F temperature differential. It requires that the area in which the unit is exhausting its hot air does not exceed  85°F, in order to keep the cellar at  55°F.

The fans are angled at 45° which provides efficient air circulations and requires minimal machine run time.

BTU/H

2049

The BTU/h value shown here is a theoretical number. There are often circumstances under which a cellar design may require a larger unit due to variables not accounted for in the formula. For example, these variables could be building materials (such as glass, stone, concrete, etc.) which do not offer the insulation capacity required to maintain the optimal cellar environment. We recommend purchasing a unit with a larger capacity to compensate for these unaccounted-for variables. An undersized unit can lead to premature failure and will most likely prevent the cellar from reaching your desired temperature.

Failed immediately after 2 year warranty period

Wow, what a piece of crap! This thing worked fine for 2 years, keeping my 45 SF well-insulated and sealed wine closet at a constant 56 degrees, which you would expect would be a simple task for a machine rated for up to 650 SF of space. Literally 2 years and a week after installing, the unit stopped cooling air. I contacted WhisperKool who sent me the names of a couple local service technicians.

The one who was most helpful told me the unit most likely has a refrigerant leak. Recharging would run a few hundred bucks but if the unit has stopped cooling then it likely has a large leak and recharging is not a long term solution.  With a large leak, I'd need to replace the coil which costs about $700.

The repair technician says the thing should last 10 years, and the coil should be warranted for 5.  I've only been using it for 2 years, so it's crazy that the coil would fail so soon.

So I contact WhisperKool again to update them and learn the unit itself has a 2 year warranty, which I'm out of by a few weeks. The compressor is warranted for 5 years, but the coil, of course, is not part of the compressor. It's part of the "unit" so there's nothing they can do.

I asked if they would just send the new coil and I'd cover the labor cost, but they won't budge. Their policy remains firm: we sell premium-priced wine coolers that should last 10 years but instead last just 2 because they are built with cheap components and backed by a worthless warranty.

Is my experience unusual - 1 out of 10 or 1 out of 100? Buy a CellarCool and roll the dice to see!

This cooling unit can be classed as Self-Contained. It's a Through the Wall unit, so it sends exhaust fumes into an adjacent room.

Our range includes both Small and Large sized units.
