How to Buy a Wine Rack Wall

A wall wine rack allows you to add both style and functionality to your environment while storing your wine.

Perhaps you don't have much counter space in your kitchen or need to liven up a bare wall? If so, these make a great investment.

These racks free up floor space and are cheaper than a built-in wine refrigerator.

We do also have some larger options that can store as many as nine bottles at once. 

If you're not sure that your wall can bear the weight of your bottles, it's best to choose a rack with a smaller capacity.

If you want your wine to keep its flavour profile, you'll need to store it at a constant temperature. By placing your rack on your wall, you can isolate it from the kind of cold and hot spots which are linked to heating and cooling vents or entry/exit points. An extra consideration for wooden racks is it may contract or expand if it's gets damp or the heat changes drastically, which could also impact the quality of your wine.

Another great reason for storing your wine on your wall is that it makes it harder for people to steal it. It is much more difficult for someone to gain unauthorised access to your wine if it is placed high up on your wall vs taking it off a low shelf. Wine storage specialists often advise people to store wine on the wall if they have concerns about security, storing the most expensive bottles higher up.

How to secure your wine rack to the wall?

Securing your rack to the wall isn't as difficult as many people imagine it is.

If you have ever attached an item such as a shelf or a TV mount to your wall, you shouldn't struggle to install a wine rack either.

The kind of items you need to secure your rack to your wall include sheetrock anchors, L brackets, masonry attachments, molly bolts, wood screws, shims and furring strips.

In many cases, you'll find the rack comes with all or many tools that you'll need to secure it, but check the product page for more information.

Where can I hang my wall wine racking system?

Most of our wall-mounted racks can be hung on all kinds of substrates and surfaces, and can be hung virtually anywhere.

Popular choices among our customers are their wine cellars and wine rooms.

You could pair your rack with matching wine cabinets to form a cohesive design (just aim to have the cabinet in the same style). 

Or, if you're not placing your wine rack in a wine cellar, you could consider adding it to your dining area, pantry, underneath your stairs or in your kitchen.

Over recent years, many people have opted to create glass-enclosed "jewel box" wine storage areas with framed glass panels. They then hang the metal racks inside these using floor-to-ceiling frames.
