What's the difference between Wall Connect and Ceiling Connect wine rack systems?
The Kessick Somm system offers two installation types. Wall Connect anchors into the wall at the top, creating a floor-to-wall wine rack system — the most common configuration and works in virtually any residential application. Ceiling Connect anchors the pole between the floor and ceiling, creating a true floor-to-ceiling wine wall system ideal for open-concept spaces where you want a floating wine wall effect.

Can I mix Label Forward and Neck Out wine racks in one wine wall?
Yes — one of the key advantages of the Kessick Somm modular wine rack system is the ability to combine multiple storage styles in a single layout. Label Forward wine racks display bottles outward for a high-end visual presentation, while Neck Out wine storage maximizes bottle capacity with a traditional layout.
Most modern wine wall designs combine both styles to create a balance between display and storage efficiency. Does the Kessick Somm wine rack system require professional installation?
The Somm Series wine wall system is precision-engineered and typically requires professional installation, especially for multi-pole or floor-to-ceiling configurations. Smaller 2-pole wall-mounted systems may be completed by an experienced DIYer, but larger installations should be handled by a qualified contractor to ensure proper alignment and structural anchoring.

What materials and finishes are available in the Kessick Somm Series?
The Kessick Somm system combines metal pole structures with optional wood shelving components. Available wood species are White Oak and Walnut, each offered in five finishes: Unfinished, Clear, Walnut Stain, Espresso Stain, and Gray Stain — ten distinct options to coordinate with your interior design aesthetic.
Wood shelving is included in configurations such as the SE13–SE18 Parallel Shelf systems and the SV cabinet-integrated systems. Wood finishes are made-to-order and lead times may vary — we recommend confirming your finish choice early to avoid delays.

What bottle sizes fit in the Kessick Somm wine rack system?
The Somm Series is optimized for standard 750ml Bordeaux-style bottles, which ensures consistent spacing and a clean visual layout. Other formats — Burgundy, Champagne, and Magnum (1.5L) — may fit depending on the specific configuration.
For mixed collections, combining shelf types or using Display Rows is recommended. The Display Row component is an excellent option for featuring Magnums and other showcase bottles at eye level. We recommend consulting your specific product listing or reaching out before ordering if your collection includes non-standard formats.

Can the Kessick Somm system be combined with wine cabinets?
Yes — the SV-series products are specifically designed to pair the Somm pole-and-shelf wine wall system with a Kessick base cabinet. The SV23, SV24, and SV25 configurations include integrated base cabinets (Bin Cabinet and Chevron Cabinet), combining open display above with enclosed cabinetry at the base to create a fully built-in wine wall system.
This combination is particularly popular in wine cellars and tasting rooms. For integrating Somm poles alongside existing cabinetry, we recommend a design consultation to confirm clearances and finish coordination before ordering.

Is the Kessick Somm system suitable for wine aging?
The Somm system stores bottles horizontally — the correct orientation for keeping natural corks moist and preserving wine. However, it is not a climate-controlled unit and does not regulate temperature, humidity, or light. Whether your wine ages well depends entirely on the room conditions.
For serious long-term aging, a dedicated wine cellar cooling unit is strongly recommended. Ideal aging conditions are approximately 55°F (13°C), 60–70% relative humidity, and minimal light exposure.
