Randy Green Wine Cellar Design Authority
Founder and owner of Wine Cellar HQ, wine storage specialist with a construction and technical background, and a member of the Vineyard Wine Cellars team.
Randy Green is a wine storage specialist whose expertise sits at the intersection of construction, climate control, product selection, cellar design and the business of protecting a wine collection for the long term.
Before focusing on wine storage, Randy gained practical construction experience as a partner in a general contracting business. In 2016, he narrowed that experience into a dedicated focus on creating wine storage solutions for residential and commercial clients.
Today he leads Wine Cellar HQ , where collectors, homeowners, designers and contractors can access wine cellar cooling systems, racking, refrigeration, design guidance and technical support.
Randy also works with Vineyard Wine Cellars , whose work centers on architect-driven custom wine environments. The relationship expands the range of projects Randy can help facilitate—from equipment selection and residential storage to sophisticated custom cellar installations.
Wine Cellar HQ's broader technical team includes refrigeration sizing specialists and licensed HVAC technicians, giving clients access to expertise beyond aesthetics alone. A successful cellar is ultimately an engineered environment: temperature, humidity, insulation, vapor control, ventilation and equipment sizing must work together.
Wine cellar design lives at the intersection of architecture, preservation and the practical realities of building a climate-controlled environment.
Hive
A patented system built around modular wine storage.
Wine Hive is a modular aluminum wine-racking system based on interlocking honeycomb cells that can expand as a collection grows. Its underlying rack designs and modular connection systems are represented in United States patent records.
The system gives Wine Cellar HQ a differentiated product platform alongside the established wine-racking, cooling and refrigeration brands available throughout the store.
The details that make a cellar perform.
Wine storage combines design with building science. Randy's work focuses on helping clients understand the systems behind a successful cellar—not simply selecting products that look good.
Cooling System Sizing
Matching refrigeration capacity and system type to room volume, insulation, glass exposure, ambient conditions and project needs.
Temperature & Humidity
Understanding the environmental conditions required for dependable long-term wine storage and preservation.
Cellar Construction
Planning insulation, vapor control, doors, penetrations and the thermal envelope surrounding an actively cooled cellar.
Glass Wine Rooms
Accounting for increased thermal load when designing modern glass enclosures and highly visible wine environments.
Racking & Layout
Balancing bottle capacity, accessibility, presentation and architectural style across wood, metal and modular systems.
Equipment Selection
Helping collectors compare through-the-wall, ducted, ductless, split and self-contained wine-cooling solutions.
