THE EXTREME 5000TIR
The Extreme 3500tiR, 5000tiR, and 8000tiR introduce the variable-speed fans to WhisperKOOL's most advanced and powerful self-contained cooling system. Utilizing these fans, this high-capacity unit can maintain optimal cellar conditions. The Extreme is designed to fit between standard wall studs for a simple "through-the-wall" installation with minimal modification to existing wall structures. Extremes can also be mounted through an exterior wall and can operate in a 110°F exhaust environment. This unit is equipped with our Remote Platinum Series controller, which can be placed up to 50 line feet from the unit, utilizing Advanced System Protection.

The BTU/h value shown here is a theoretical number. There are often circumstances under which a cellar design may require a larger unit due to variables not accounted for in the formula. For example, these variables could be building materials (such as glass, stone, concrete, etc.) that do not offer the insulation capacity required to maintain the optimal cellar environment. We recommend purchasing a unit with a larger capacity to compensate for these unaccounted-for variables. An undersized unit can lead to premature failure and will most likely prevent the cellar from reaching your desired temperature.

The use of the 24-volt thermostat conversion kit eliminates the thermostat normally included with the system and allows your contractor to select, purchase and install the thermostat technology of your choice, including but not limited to Nest, Ecobee, and Honeywell.
By selecting the 24V Thermostat Conversion Kit, you have acknowledged that the system will not be built with the standard WhisperKOOL control or liquid measuring bottle probe. You will have to source and purchase your own 24V thermostat to run the equipment.
- Not utilizing the thermostat from WhisperKOOL also eliminates the use of the bottle probe.
- WhisperKOOL does not provide smart thermostats. Those must be purchased separately.
- WhisperKOOL customer service staff do not provide technical support for customers’ selected thermostats.

- Self-Contained System Warranty: A limited 2-year product/5-year compressor warranty is offered with all self-contained cooling units at the date of purchase.
- Split System Warranty: A limited 2-year product warranty is offered with all split systems. While the warranty starts at the date of purchase, this warranty is not activated until a Product Warranty Checklist has been submitted and approved by WhisperKOOL.
- Warranty Claims: All warranty claims must be filed directly through WhisperKOOL customer service. WhisperKOOL performs warranty repairs at its manufacturing facility in Stockton, CA, or, with WhisperKOOL's prior permission, through a licensed HVAC/R technician. If a unit can't be repaired in the field and is still under warranty, WhisperKOOL covers the shipping costs to return it (excluding customs fees and duties). As an authorized WhisperKOOL dealer, Wine Cellar HQ is glad to help you file your claim.
- Limited Warranty: Limited warranty applies only to wine cooling units purchased directly from WhisperKOOL or through an authorized dealer. Damage caused by others or beyond the control of WhisperKOOL shall not be considered defects in material or workmanship and is not covered by the warranty. The limited warranty does not cover any parts or labor to correct any defect caused by negligence, commercial use, accident, maintenance, installation, service/repair, or improper use.

Can I install an Extreme unit myself?
Extreme units are self-contained, so there is no refrigerant line to run. Through-the-wall models fit between standard wall studs, and a handy homeowner or a contractor can install them. Fully ducted models sit up to 25 ducted feet from the cellar, so a contractor usually runs the ducting. Every model needs a dedicated 115V circuit (20 amp on tiR models) and a drain line.
How hot can the room behind it get?
Up to 110°F. Extreme units hold a 55°F cellar with condenser intake air up to 110°F, which is why they suit garages, attics and exterior walls. They can vent outdoors as long as the outside temperature stays at or below 110°F, and WhisperKOOL highly recommends the exterior grille cover for that.
What size do I need?
WhisperKOOL rates the 3500 for up to 800 cu. ft., the 5000 for up to 1,250 cu. ft. and the 8000 for up to 2,000 cu. ft. in a properly insulated cellar. Glass, stone, concrete or a cellar near the top of a range calls for the next size up. Our free heat-load calculation confirms it before you order.
What is the difference between ti and tiR?
tiR models add a remote digital display on a 50-foot cable, so you can check and set the cellar from outside it, plus the option of a 24V thermostat kit. The tiR comes as a through-the-wall unit or a fully ducted unit in each size.
Is it loud?
tiR models use variable-speed fans, with sound levels as low as 51 dB. For the quietest cellar, choose a fully ducted model: the unit sits up to 25 ducted feet away, so its noise stays outside the cellar.
Can I use my own smart thermostat?
Yes, on tiR models, with the 24V thermostat conversion kit. It replaces the WhisperKOOL controller and the bottle probe, so your contractor installs the thermostat you choose, such as Nest, Ecobee or Honeywell. You buy the thermostat separately, and WhisperKOOL does not provide technical support for third-party thermostats.
What warranty comes with it?
A limited 2-year parts and labor warranty plus a 5-year compressor warranty, from the date of purchase. As an authorized dealer, we help you register the unit and file any claim.
